A painting composed of the geometry of light and the pattern of clouds and, I hope, very little else.... Looking across from Broughty Ferry to Tentsmuir beach again - with yet another brand new sky.
The spread of light as these huge aerial masses progress through the air is my sole subject for this oil sketch. The geographical location is the Tay Estuary looking south towards the strip of Tentsmuir Forest across the water but this is fairly irrelevant. The specific shapes formed within the sky at this moment is what the painting is about. I’d like to think it could be anywhere on the planet in terms of an earthbound location. Or any”where” in time for that matter. Somewhere On Earth in the Last Billion Years would suit me perfectly as a tag for this work.
